Styrsö in Gothenburg's southern archipelago is synonymous with beautiful nature and a high quality of life in general. It is also here that the Styrsö art tour takes place over two days in mid-July every year. Since 2008, local artists from Styrsö and Donsö have exhibited their artwork during the annual art tour. Both established and new artists exhibit and many different art forms are represented. The date for this year's construction tour is
July 13-14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A fantastic art festival - every summer
In the middle of summer, Styrsö bubbles with activity and creativity when local artists open their studios and homes to visitors. About fourty local artists get involved in this genuine art tour with venues all over the island. Just look out for blue pennants that mark the exhibitions, and set off on a journey of discovery.
Painters, sculptors and craftsmen participate and show their art, the art touris a unique opportunity to enjoy and take part in everything from acrylic and oil paintings, watercolors, sculptures, metal art, drawings, prints, wood art, ceramics, porcelain, photo art, silversmithing , books, woven rugs, knitwear and much more.
Welcome to the artists' homes and studios
All artists who are part of the art tour have a local connection to Styrsö or Donsö. Most of the artists open the doors to both their homes and studios/workshops. It is a perfect opportunity to meet and talk to the artists behind the art and discuss their work.
